THURS. FEBRUARY 2
Well, we have high speed internet access in our room at Paris, Las Vegas, so here I am being a good girl and blogging yesterday's food.
Not that I was a particularly good girl yesterday. Can I just say "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" and leave it at that?
I snagged the 1/4 bagel w/ cream cheese that Sabrina left behind at her very early breakfast. Oh, and did I forget to mention it was a chocolate chip bagel?
At the airport, I had a Thai chicken pizza at California Pizza Kitchen , but minus the crust.
Mid-afternoon, Barbara was hungry so we went to a very lovely pseudo-sidewalk cafe here at Paris. I wasn't that hungry, so had some absolutely lovely (and quite overpriced) potato skins -- 1 each of mushroom/bearnaise, cheese/onion, and ham/some kind of sauce. Really delicious. Oh, and a handful of little fried onions.
We hung in the casino for several hours, where I made the acquaintance of the new generation of penny slots. Barb really wanted seafood, which turned out to be a mistake. Our concierge recommended the Seafood Buffet at the Rio, which was really not that great. Let's see if I can remember (buffets make it hard to remember, esp. because I end up taking waaaay more food than I eat). 7 scallops, two servings of fried clams, about 1/4 of rice, a few carrots, about 4 oz. of teriyaki salmon, 4 crab legs, probably about 2 oz. of tartar sauce, a couple of bites of shrimp pasta, a really lousy mini-lobster tail, and two crab melange thingies. I think that's it.
Today we're off to breakfast, then a walk, then Barb has a radio interview and I go to the pool. We're supposed to see some magic show this afternoon, don't when we'll squeeze in lunch, then off to teach, a dinner w/ Act One alums or something like that, then we're done at 10, so I'm hoping we can pay a visit to Jimmy Buffett's new restaurant here, Margaritaville -- if it's not too insane, being Superbowl weekend officially as of today.
Okay, I did it! Even from Vegas!
