THURS., JANUARY 26

Well, we've been writing all day, Lee is still working on the last part of the big exposition scene we need to crack, and as soon as he gets it to me, I will probably just paste it in to my/our pages and send them off to our writers group, who pretty much expected the pages this afternoon.

What that means is that I didn't even leave the house except to take the kids to school. Lee did the pick-up, including taking Sabrina to the dentist. Which is conveniently located next to the kids' pediatrician. Which was good, because Cory sprained his finger today. Maybe broke it. We don't know if he broke it, because Lee didn't take him to the hospital for an x-ray, because he wanted to get home and get back to his writing. I have to say, I don't know a single mom who would have made that choice.

(Lee will probably be the one who takes Cory to the hospital in the morning... )

Anyway, food. Okay. I had half a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. Write write write. I had a Lean Cuisine angel hair pasta with shrimp for lunch. Write write write again. Then tonight I guess I was still in a pasta-y mood from lunch, because I made spaghetti with meat sauce. And I must have been hungry, because I had (gulp) 2 servings.

I did 140 crunches, but too busy writing to do any more exercise.

Hopefully I won't be up past midnight (depends on when Lee finishes his work). Because tomorrow is a busy busy day. I have to be at school at lunchtime to help with 5th grade's "Colonial Crafts Day" -- I have to help the kids make and write on horn books with real quill pens -- that includes sharpening the quills. I am anticipating at least one kid spilling ink. Then I race away from that to be the Brownie leader in charge of our annual ice skating meeting. Which is ironic, because I can't skate (torn anterior cruciate ligament -- not that I was much of a skater before I tore it). There will be some sort of snack at Brownies. I suspect I will need it.

Then I race home to pick up Cory and take him to his first "dance party." Boys and girls together. What a scary thought. Then from there I race over to the board meeting of the Alliance of Women Directors. This is 6 women who bring an ad hoc dinner every month. We never plan who's bringing what, but someone it always works out well. Fortunately, I don't have to cook anything, don't have to pick anything up -- because we have so much still leftover from the various gift baskets we got for Christmas. I think it's camembert and water crackers, maybe some breadsticks as well, maybe some smoked salmon. We've got 'em all. And chances are, I won't eat anything of what I take. So not sure what I'll have for dinner.

All I know for sure is, next month's meeting, there'll be Girl Scout cookies...
