MON. JANUARY 16

I stayed up late watching the somewhat lackluster Golden Globes last night, so didn't get to blogging before bed.

Yesterday morning I had my annual physical, so I skipped breakfast, knowing they'd be taking blood -- which they did indeed.

For lunch I had a tuna melt w/ tomatoes and Swiss cheese. Sabrina insists tuna melts are her favorite sandwich, but she hardly touched hers. Cory, however, scarfed his down, every crumb.

In the afternoon, we had to drive down to Orange County for a birthday party. I thought traffic would be smoother than usual due to the holiday -- and maybe it was, but it still sucked. We were quite late. Had to make a bathroom stop along the way, and Cory used the opportunity to order a cheeseburger. "Pizza at the party!" I warned him. But he insisted he was starving.

The party was a blast -- wish we had been there on time. A warehouse filled w/ giant inflatables -- bounce houses, giant slides, etc. The kids loved it. And yes, there was pizza. I had 2 slices of thin-crust sausage pizza -- and Cory, full of cheeseburger... had three slices! Where is he putting it?!... I also had 2 handfuls of baby carrots, some pineapple, and a small piece of birthday cake.

We made it home for the Golden Globes, where Sabrina issued her opinions on the dresses most authoritatively. Cory had chosen nachos for dinner -- I thought he might want to pass after all that food. But no! he was still hungry.

So I made my totally disgusting and yet completely addictive nachos dip: Velveeta cheese, a can of chili, and a cup of salsa, all melted together. I had about 1/8 of the total recipe, probably about 1/2 cup or less. With a small bowl of Tostitos. And I had heartburn all night. I think the leftover nachos are all Cory's.

Today is one of those great all-day-at-home-writing days. I will probably make some kind of stir-fry thingie for dinner. So nice to have nowhere to go!
