TUES. JANUARY 10

Oh my, today certainly didn't turn out as expected, food-wise at least.

Lee had a 14-hour writing day yesterday, came to bed after 2:00 a.m. and when he woke up, he was famished. We needed to talk over the beginning-of-the-year Open Writing Assignment lists, which I knew would take at least an hour, and he wanted something to eat, so we went out to brunch. I had a side Caesar salad and a baked potato with about 1-2 T. each of butter, sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits.

Back to work, and then off to Act One for a meeting with Barbara. A nice planning meeting, talking about our trip to Vegas in a few weeks (woo-hoo!). And when we finished we went out for an early dinner. But the Italian place we wanted to go to wasn't open yet, so we went to the chicken place next door instead. Barb wanted to split some onion rings as an appetizer (and they are really really good there, I have to admit) -- I had about 6 onion rings. And I had a turkey-and-veggie pot pie for dinner (I didn't eat all the crust). Plus it came with roasted potatoes, but I only ate about 6 bites -- they seemed superfluous. It also came with cornbread, but again, I only ate a few bites. It also came with cranberry sauce -- that I ate all of.

So I came home all full, ready to kick back, read the mail, read the paper -- only to find that Sabrina, very proud of the nice thing she had done, had bought me a cinnamon roll (at the school bake sale? not sure). And she had it all laid out on a plate, and wanted to watch me eat it. So I did. And that put me over the edge to feeling just a bit too stuffed. Yuck. (And the Cinnamon rolls was a bit stale on top of it all.)

Tomorrow I am home all day. No meals out. Other than driving to and from school, nothing, nada, rien. Boy, does that sound good!
