SUNDAY, JAN. 1

Fortunately there were no doughnuts at church this morning, as there usually are. So I can't lay claim to being 'good.'

For lunch we went to Islands w/ our friend Jack. A lovely lunch. I rarely have a hamburger there, because they're 1/2 pound hamburgers, but I was v. hungry (I didn't get dinner last night, bcause Sabrina had a meltdown at the New Year's Eve party we were at just as dinner was served -- she had lost her brand new opal ring, later found -- and by the time I finished calming her down, all the food was gone!).

I had a Hawaiian burger -- 1/2 lb. of hamburger, cheddar cheese, pineapple, teriyaki sauce, tomato, mayo (oops - forgot to say hold the mayo). Also had the v. wonderful fries which were esp. good today. Had way too much of them -- I would guess 7 or 8 oz... With low-fat ranch dressing, about 2 T. of it. Those fries are absolutely addictive. I read somewhere recently that scientists have determined that some people are genetically designed to be physically addicted to fatty foods. I think I must be one of them. Sigh.

For dinner, I was going to make a curry-broccoli-chicken thing, but Lee wanted to eat Cory's leftover beef stroganoff from the Grand Canyon (which was fab), so I just made ravioli w/ Prego spaghetti sauce.

And for dessert, we opened one of the many, many boxes of chocolates we got for Christmas -- this was a 2 lb. box of See's candy, the very best. I had one piece of bordeaux (hazelnut) filled chocolate (which I have previously researched and determined is about 70 calories -- worth every one). And then I stuck the box way up on top of the freezer so it won't be calling out to me. (It also keeps it out of Sabrina's reach -- after all, this is the girl who, one year, said that for Lent, she was giving up "sneaking candy.")

That's it. My first day blogging my food. It's only 7:30, but I figure if I've written my food down already, I can't have anything else for the night.

Tomorrow is the Rose Parade. Orange cinnamon rolls. Yum.
